As most of you know, The Help, by Kathryn Stockett has now been turned into a major motion picture. That being said, I would HIGHLY suggest that you read the book as well, if not first. It’s truly a captivating story. It is a story of the deep south, of women empowerment, and one of the most thought-provoking pieces I have read in a long time. It teaches us history, reminds us to never forget where we came from, and to always appreciate and acknowledge those who helped us along the way.
The screenwriter of the Help, Tate Taylor, must get immense praise as well, for the movie certainly does the book justice as well. It’s the type of movie that leaves you with your heart full and a smile on your face.
Go read it.
Then go see it.
