Lets talk about Homeland…

Hello Beautiful People,

Lets talk about Homeland, shall well?  It’s one of the newest shows at Showtime, and we happen to think it’s fantastic. September 30, 2012 marked the beginning of the second season of the show, and we could not be happier for the cast, crew, and writers of this show.

Now, what’s it about?

From the mouths of Showtime:

Hero or traitor? M.I.A. in Afghanistan for eight years and subjected to unthinkable torture at the hands of al-Qaeda, Marine Sgt. Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) is finally coming home. CIA officer Carrie Mathison (Emmy® winner Claire Danes) believes he has been turned and become part of a plot to be carried out on American soil. But the volatile Carrie has some demons of her own. Nothing is as it seems in HOMELAND, an edge-of-your-seat thriller that also stars Emmy® winner Mandy Patinkin.

The genius of this show is just…unending.  From the writing, to the acting, and everything in between, it’s just awesome.  Claire Danes, Damian Lewis, and Mandy Patinkin are just phenomenal, and this show deserves every single Emmy and Golden Globe it has received.

It makes you think about many of the current events that are going on today, especially the state of affairs in the Middle East.  Every time you think you’ve gotten a character or a plot line figured out, well, the writers throw you another curveball.

But isn’t life about curveballs? Who really has everything figured out?

We certainly don’t, and we’d gather to say that the majority of you out there do not either.  But that’s the beautiful part about Homeland…it’s a show that makes you think.

And here at The Write Teacher, we’re all about media that provokes and encourages thoughts & discussion.
